West End completed the 2016 season with a 6-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 2A region seven, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. West End reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Lanett by a score of 53-14. It marked the first time since the 2010 season that the Patriots qualified for the playoffs. Since 2010, West End has gone a combined 22-51. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 50th in Class 2A over the past seven seasons. The Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with a loss to Southside Gadsden by a score of 28-21. West End and Glencoe have met a total of 28 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 11-16-1 record against the Yellow Jackets. They last met in 2016 with Glencoe winning by a score of 28-21. West End returns 2A All-State Senior offensive lineman DeWayne Miller. He was named to the honorable mention team last season. The Patriots also return Senior running back Jordan Malin. He was named to the honorable mention team.
